Handmade Gingerbread Boys and Girls

Sew some memories with older children and teach them some basic sewing skills while making these adorable gingerbread boys and girls!
You don't need a sewing machine to make these gingerbread people-they can be sewn entirely by hand!
Trace the pattern (available on the blog) twice using a brown marker on a piece of 9 x 12 tan colored felt.
Pin the front to the back and then sew on small black buttons for the eyes with black thread.
Sew on a mouth with pink DMC embroidery thread.
Attach a heart-shaped button and sew additional flower-shaped buttons for the girl.
For the boy, I stitched some x's on his chest with white DMC embroidery thread,
Now you're ready to stitch the front and back together using some tan DMC embroidery thread. Hide the knot by pulling the needle through one side.
Stitch around the head using a running stitch. Once the head has been sewn together, go ahead and add a little fiberfill to stuff the head. Continue to do the same as you stitch each arm and leg. Before you know it, you will have a gingerbread person! You'll find more tips and a complete supply list on the blog.
