Wayfair Blogger Challenge

I was recently asked to take part in a Blogger Challenged sponsored by Wayfair and Hometalk. I could pick one of three items and apply one of three themes to it. I chose a pine bookshelf and altered it using rope as well as some white pickling stain. Some staples and glue later and here's what I came up with...
Tuesday
Wayfair and Hometalk teamed up for a challenge. I chose to apply a white wash stain and then wrap this bookshelf with sisal rope.
Three coats of stain got me the exact color I was hoping for. I kept comparing to the original color to make sure I was on the right track.
I then stapled to sisal rope for a strong start, wrapped it, glued the end and then trimmed it off.
Since sisal is hairy, it all got a quick haircut once I was done.
Here is the finished product before the fun part, accessorizing!
This bookshelf is now in my sons' shared bedroom.
Toys and books fill the bookshelf.
The white stain and rope look great agains the blue walls.
I was also able to gain more storage space for clothing in the "Expedit in a closet".

@Evelyn McMullen It was very easy to do. I pulled it very tight and kept squeezing and adjusting the sisal rope. It was very flexible and conformed to the shape of the wood very easily. Once you get started it doesn't even pull or unwind. I left one piece for a bit (not glued down yet) and it didn't budge!

Thank you, I think I'd have to use raffia or something lighter. Good plan for this summer.
