Every time I worked on staircase banisters, I get amazed with every transformation.. How much every single house change with only refinishing the banisters!!
Before & After
I like banisters with vintage look, with the antiqued touch that makes each and one of them very unique!
First you need to do some prep!

Protect the spindles to get painted with painters tape..

Then clean and degrease all the banisters..

Now apply waterbase primer..
from natural Oak color to black/bronze finish
What do you think?
Without the tapes now!
We also matched the steps with no carpet on it, to look like the the banisters..
How about this Before & After!
Now look at this before and after!
After
How about this antiqued white!
One more!
Let me show you one more color!
Before
Love this one!
After
Let me post some close ups!
I had so much fun playing with grays, brown, bronze and gold colors and then I antiqued the metal spindles with white wax..
With my Pixie Dust I had the freedom of using my own color combinations!

After primer apply your favorite color and the accentuate the banisters with light and dark shades of the same base color and antiqued with a contrast color..

Let it dry and seal with (2) coats of Polycrilyc..

Have fun!!

with added to your flat finish latex paint, the sky is the limit to use any color..

Tip: With natural stain you can add movement and make colors to look so dramatic!!
