My client founded this piece at a garage sale for $10!!! It was a steal!!
She brought it to me to make it the focal point for her office..
And this is how it was done!
First I cleaned and saded a litle the rusted areas.. (Cool look by the way)
After cleaned and sanded I applied two cans of the Rustoleoum anti-rust spray in brown color..

I let it dry for 12 hours to start painting on it..
With the help of I could used about 5 different colors to achieve this finish..

Dark gray

Light gray

Dark brown

Taupe

Copper
Then after I blended all the colors I went for my Unicor Spit and got

Orange

Black

White

With this natural stain I was able to add drama making it look like rusted and old.
Then.. The personalization!

1213 needed to be added to make it special!
All areas covered now!
After was dry, I sealed with Minwax Polycrilyc.. (2) coats..
Done!

Give it at least a good (3) days to dry!!

Depending on weather temperature more or less!

Great project! It inspires me to try something similar! I would never have thought to use Unicorn Spit on a filing cabinet. Thank you so much for the idea!
