Fun and Easy Valentine Chocolate Planters

A couple weeks ago my husband brought home these cute farmhouse-themed, galvanized metal planters. After finding these pretty, but very realistic, faux tulips, I came up with a fun way to combine the farmhouse planters, the faux tulips, and my favorite Valentine's Day candies into an edible centerpiece for my coffee table.
So that I didn't have to buy a ton of candy, I filled up each planter with dried beans and rice (I ran out of beans and all I had left in my pantry was dried rice) and then topped each one off with Dove chocolate hearts....
...and M&Ms.
To add a special Valentine touch, I created these vintage-style labels glued onto wood skewers using clip art from The Graphics Fairy.
I've always loved the idea of decorating with pretty and yummy candies and confections, especially chocolate (total choco-holic here) for holidays and I'm pretty thrilled with the way this turned out....
....Bright colorful tulips and a couple of old-fashioned lacy hearts growing in a 'mulch' of chocolate. What could be better?

What a great Valentine decorations! I see in the background you have the pillow with red buttons! Is the cover from a vintage table cloth?
