A little while ago I was given a rather sorry and dated looking set of rattan drawers. Despite begin rather dog eared and having bite marks in the legs I could see potential ...
I had some gold spray paint sitting in the shed so I decided to use that.
As you can see the drawers had seen better days.
First I took everything apart and gave it a good wash down.
Next I addressed the little bit marks on the legs (the person who gave it too me had a little dog that had been nibbling on it).
I filled these holes with wood filler. Once this had dried I gave it a light sanding and wiped the dust away.
Then I simply sprayed the drawers with gold paint.
I built it up in thin layers allowing it to dry after each layer.
The finished result was even better than I had hoped (on some of the photos it looks as though the paint is a little patchy but this is just the shiny finish).
I now have a lovely piece of furniture that I proudly display in my home.
