Spring is Blooming!

There is nothing like watching the gardens come to life in the spring! I love playing in the dirt. But even if you don't have a green thumb, you can enjoy a profusion of color and interest all year round. My low-maintenance, easy-care gardening philosophy is to plant lots of bulbs, flowering tress, shrubs and perennials. Plant once and they will reward you with years of multi-season interest. They actually get better with age and require very little care. I save the annuals for pots on the porch and patio. They require watering several times a week, but that's pretty manageable. A combination of perennials and annuals is the best of all worlds. And investing in plants that will last for many years to come is a thrifty alternative in the long run. Here's a peek at what's blooming in my yard this spring!
