Spring is one of my favorite times of year because I can begin to go outside and plant things. My rose bushes are beginning to bud the wild daffodils are blooming and we have our bird houses prepped for new nests. I'm lucky that the Kiddo likes this time of year too and she is happy to accept any room brightening decor I make for her. (I wonder how long that will last?) This time I decided to bring a little Spring inside with a yarn letter for her door, and it would work great as a monogram for the front door.
Materials:

Wooden or cardboard letter

Yarn

Silk flowers, buttons what ever you choose to decorate your letter.

Hot Glue Gun
Step 1

Hot glue the yarn in place on the bottom of the letter. You want to make sure that the yarn is security in place before the next step.

Step 2 : Wrap

Add a bead of glue along the bottom front edge of the letter and begin wrapping the yarn. The glue will help the yarn stay in place on the letter. Wrap the letter carefully making sure to line up the yarn with no gaps. You may need to double up or cross the yarn over itself for corners or around edges. For more detailed instructions go to www.HandPArtistry,com
Step 3

Glue or screw in your hook or hanger. I used a length of ribbon glued directly to the wood between the yarn.
The last step before hanging up is to decorate your letter. I choose small silk flowers but you could use buttons, shells, feathers your imagination is the limit.

I try to put my decorations on any place where I change directions with the yarn or cross the yarn over itself. They are also a great way to cover any mistakes with the glue.
The final step is to hang the letter.
