Easter Basket Table Favors

Easy
For entertaining, wow your guests this Easter by creating unique Easter basket table favors using plastic canvas and jute twine.
Start by cutting all the plastic canvas and twine pieces first. Count the holes in the canvas, four across and 48 hole down for the handle and cut out. Six feet of twine is needed to stitch the handle. I struggled pulling the needle through the holes so instead I dipped the end of twine in mod podge or glue, let harden, and pushed the end like a needle through the holes.
To stitch the handle, skip the first row of four holes and push the twine end through the third hole from the left on the second row, leaving an inch of twine on the back. Bring the end through the hole one row up (third row) and to the right, creating a diagonal stitch.
Then bring the end twine through the second left hole and up through the fourth row hole on the right. Next bring the end through the canvas first hole on the left (second row) and through the fourth hole in the fifth row, creating another diagonal stitch.
Continue making side by side diagonal stitches, coming through the first hole on the left, over to the last hole on the right.
Continue the diagonal stitching until the next to the last row and repeat the shorter diagonal stitched rows just like the beginning starting rows.

To secure the twine, thread the end through the eye of a needle and push the needle through several stitches on the back, pulling tight and cutting off the excess twine.
To make the basket, count 12 holes across and 64 holes down and cut out. 9 feet of twine is needed for this size. Divide the canvas into three sections of four holes, and begin stitching the canvas the same way as the handle.
Start the middle section the opposite of the first, coming from the back of the second hole. The stitches will run diagonally opposite of the first section to give a herringbone effect.
Begin the last section the same as the first , with the stitches going the opposite of the middle section.
Connect the two ends together by overlapping the blank rows and stitching horizontal across. Finish the end by threading a needle and weave it under several stitches, as before.
Attach the plain bottom to the sides of the basket by whip stitching the two pieces together.
Connect the handle to the top edge of the basket by centering the basket seam and whip stitching through the first row of handle and basket edge, around to the other end of handle and the beginning stitches. Secure the twine the same way under the stitches, as before.
Imagine the possibilities using other materials like the popular decorative twines and threads available in addition to other holiday embellishments to make these adorable basket table favors.

Your project is darling but your china is divine! Mind if I ask where you got it? I have a terrible infinity for beautiful china and buy it whenever I can even though no one uses it anymore. Thanks so much!
