    I was saddened to read people dig up Trilliums in the wild...that's a big NO-NO here in our area. Keeping native flowers in the wild is important, in my opinion. It can take 7 years for a trillium to flower. I do find it interesting that Trillium seeds are a treat for ants who will take them to their nests, eat the outside of the shell and discard the seed so you'll sometimes find an ant hill surrounded by Trilliums.

      They are beautiful and yes it is a shame that people dig them up instead of letting them grow. Did not know that about the ants. Very interesting. Thanks for sharing.
