I was saddened to read people dig up Trilliums in the wild...that's a big NO-NO here in our area. Keeping native flowers in the wild is important, in my opinion. It can take 7 years for a trillium to flower. I do find it interesting that Trillium seeds are a treat for ants who will take them to their nests, eat the outside of the shell and discard the seed so you'll sometimes find an ant hill surrounded by Trilliums.
