DIY Powdered Laundry Detergent

I made this recipe of laundry detergent for $2.49, which lasted a month for my family of 5 - roughly 40 loads of laundry. I have been very happy with how clean out clothes are and it's great for my kids who have skin allergies.
3 ingredients: washing soda, borax & Ivory bar soap.
Grate the soap.
Mix all ingredients in a food processor to make a powder.
Store in an air tight container with a tbsp scoop for measuring.

Too late! After 3 breakdowns in only 3 years, costing (along with the original price) just under $1,000.00, Whirlpool refused to acknowlege that it was just not good value, so I've been using the laundromat since! Very expensive and very inconvenient. In my mother's day, expensive appliances lasted many many years! It's sickening but what can i do?
