My clematis have two flowers on them. I planted another last year and it died off. I planted one this year and it is slow growing. Don't know what I'm doing wrong. I put stones around the bottom hoping that woud help, nothing,my neighbors are beautiful and she has two varieties. Help!!!

Mine came with the house which is 8+ yrs ago. There are 2 different ones the red one blooms later & I moved one so they could be together. Before this yr I always cut down the vines that I thought were dead, but I was told not to & before I knew it buds where showing up everywhere. I only keep the weed from it, so I don't know how to help u Pat R. just be patient.
