This was a quick and easy project that I did just for fun using leftover paint and odds and ends I had on hand.
I picked this up from a thrift store. It originally had painted blue flowers on it but I can't find the photo!
I sanded off the original painted design and then spray painted it white.
I painted the base in Antoinette Pink and the roof in Pure White. I used leftover chalk paint, but acrylic paint would work just as well, too.
I cut some iron-on veneer edging (affiliate link) to size to form a door.
After I was happy with the placement I simply ironed it on.
Next I painted some craft sticks white and cut them to size with kitchen scissors to form windows and trim. I used a hot glue gun to attach the pieces to the birdhouse.
I cut the ends of large craft sticks to create a shingled roof.
I painted the door and "shingles" in Paris Grey to add a little contrast.
Enjoyed the project?
