Breakfast in Bed Tray Upcycled From a Cabinet Door

I had the idea to make my own tray on a budget. Then I'd be able to customize the style to our decor, and also personalize it for myself with a monogram. I found a used cabinet door that was perfect for this project.
I found a shaker style cabinet door in the as-is section at IKEA. I thought the raised edge would make it perfect for upcycling into a tray. And the price was right.
I sanded it down slightly to clean up the chipped edges and to make sure the paint would adhere. I applied a coat of soft wax to add a beautiful sheen and make sure the surface would be durable.
I attached a pair of cabinet handles to each edge to carry the tray with.

This is really nice Andrea. Someone could add legs as well if they wanted to use it in bed. Can't beat the price either.
