Fun Garden Project for Kids. - Grow Your Own Ginger

Growing ginger from a piece of ginger root is easy and a fun project to do with kids. Who can resist something that grows from a bit of something else? Your children will love to watch it grow into a new plant.
It is easy as can be:
Just take a chunk of Ginger from your kitchen scraps and place it into the soil with the newest buds facing up.Place the pot into a spot with filtered light, not direct sunlight.
Soon enough you will begin to see new growth sprouting up. This means the roots are starting to form under the soil. After the plant gets used to its new home you will be ready to harvest the plant again for another one.Pull the entire plant out of the soil and cut off a the pieces you need, and just start again.
You will not need to buy ginger in the future! What could be better than that?
