Create A Personalized Canvas Rug For $10

I recently purchased a beautiful canvas rug for my bedroom, and then thought, "Wow I could have made this myself..." So, I did! For $10 I made myself a personalized canvas rug, and you can too!
What You'll Need:
Canvas Drop Cloth (can be purchased at Home Depot or Lowes), Stencil(s), Iron, Paint, Paintbrushes
The Steps:
1. Iron the canvas rug so that it is smooth.
2. Stencil your pattern on the rug.
3. Let it dry!
This project is super easy, and all-in-all it took me around one and a half hours to finish and only cost $10! I can't wait to start making more! For information about the rug, visit my blog at http://diyhuntress.com!

When you paint over your stencils, make sure you dab the paint instead of stroking it.

Continue to lay your stencil in your desired pattern to achieve the look you want!

The best part about painting over canvas drop cloths is that the paint does not seep through!

Is it slippery at all? I would like to make a stair runner.

  Hi! The bottom of the canvas doesn't stick well to the floor by itself. If you're looking to make a runner, I'd suggest looking into an adhesive that you can place under the runner and on the floor so that it sticks. Hope that helps!

Thanks. What I really meant is, assuming it is secured to the floor/steps, is the fabric slippery under your feet? I'm wondering if it would be dangerous to use it on steps.
