A Game Changing Decorating Question to Ask Yourself

Easy
If you're like me you have definite ideas of what you'd like your home to look like. But, it doesn't always turn out the way you'd hoped. Sometimes you are shopping and see something you like, but wonder if that will work in your house to achieve the goal your going for.
I like to re-arrange things in my house and decorate frequently, but sometimes I just get plain old stumped! After a while it's hard to imagine things going anywhere but where they already are...like this chair over there or this picture in another room. Do you ever feel that way?
I've got a simple question to help break the mind block, to help guide you as you shop and to help achieve the look you're going for. You may remember the popular 1990's phrase WWJD? What would Jesus do? It's a wonderful, thought provoking question geared towards guiding your moral compass. Guess what? It works in decorating too! Just change it up ONE WORD...
For me I asked WWJD? What would Joanna do? You know Joanna Gaines, of Fixer Upper? You could insert any of your favorite designer's names, maybe even a neighbor whose style you admire. Just let the questions guide you. Would they buy that pillow? No, then you shouldn't either. If you can't picture it their house, then don't put it in yours. Piece by piece you can look through your house and ask this question to help reach the look you are chasing! It's really simple, but really easy. And it really works! I use it to help scale myself back and spruce things up. There is no need to re-invent the wheel, use other's creativity and make it your own!
I have tons of fun ideas, DIY and tips to inspire you on my blog, Hunt & Host. Along with Christian inspiration for your insides! Check out how I made this Magnolia Market inspired Farm Crate here. Or see how I used old bullet casings to make something beautiful here. Creativity is a click away! I can't wait to see you there friends!

"What would Joanna do?" I love it! Haha! And 100% agree her style is everything.
