Gardening in Charlotte, NC

Hydrangas and jasmine -- two of my favorites. My husband and I planted the holly hedge one January about 10 years ago after he came across a bunch of plants on sale.
When I was growing up in Ireland we raised sheep on our family farm. My husband gave me this guy as a nostalgic accent.
Our cat, Pele, who wandered into our back garden last summer and is now an official resident.
I planted this red hot poker in honor of my mother who was an avid gardener.
Have learned to love sedums and succulents in this hot part of the world,
Letting the back of the garden develop a woodsey look.
These purple petunias are doing well. Can't say the same about the yellow accent flowers I planted with them.
