Rustic Wooden Industrial Tool Boxes = Garden Sign & Planters

Irene G
by Irene G
When I saw these little wooden boxes my son had brought home from work ( he was burning them for firewood!) - I begged him to get some for me! I knew right away I wanted to make flower boxes for the backyard fence. I wasn't going to let the lids with the rust hinges go to waste - so I made a sign to hang in the garden. I still have some left and will be planting some of my succulents in them.

Do you need to make holes in the bottom of the box so the water will drain?

I don't like too many signs. Yours is an exception. Nicely done.

Hey Kris, I have the same fence only black. I had to retrieve the pieces in my neighbor's backyard after a wind storm transported my screen enclosure (Dorothy-style), cinder blocks included, to his yard! Mine supports a wisteria with junk trimming.😊
