Using Chalk Paint to Update Your Wooden Furniture...

I realise a lot of you are veterans at using chalk paint....this is my first attempt....
Learn with me as I experiment....or pop by my blog to give me your pennies-worth on chalk paint....
As there is no need for sanding or priming when using chalk paint, I just cleaned my shelves using a solvent degreaser before painting....
I did 3 coats for good coverage....letting each coat dry fully, before sanding in between coats....
Then I distressed the detail with a sanding sponge...and using a damp rag...
getting rid of any dust first, I then applied a coat of clear finishing wax....buff off using a clean rag
Before adding to the patina, by using some darker antiquing wax...
Using a dry and clean brush to remove any wax build up in the corners and crevices...
I finished it off by adding a final coat of clear wax...buff buff buff for a nice shiny finish...
