Painted Pieces...

Tricia
by Tricia
These are some of my custom painted pieces from the past few weeks...
This piece was done using a Divine Color in Macaw, waxed & distressed...
I am loving this aqua colour and have done several pieces in this shade...
Buttercream yellow with a dark walnut top...
BRIGHT yellow muted a bit by dark wax with a shabby white lower half...
Same for the file cabinet...
Ironstone white with dark walnut top...
I love how a little jewelry can make a piece...

I personally would put a coat, or possibly two coats of Zinsser primer on first as a base and then use my chalk paint. I've painted a few pieces of this (like my grand daughter's Bonnett Sears set of French provincial bedroom furniture) that that had that same "Formica like" top. This is what I used and it worked fine. (I might also put a coat of harder wearing sealer on top too if going to a child.)

Gave me some good ideas! Thanks! My grandaughters are always wanting to paint! They have painted rocks for my garden for me!
