Rustic Sign Made From Junk Wood

There is a fun little antique/resale shop that I like to go to in Newaygo, MI that is full of unique antiques but also has an area out back that is kind of a graveyard of misfit items. That is my favorite area to snoop around. Almost everything out there has no price tag....but it's not free - you just have to ask, negotiate a little bit and almost always end up with a decent deal.
That is where I wound up with this old shutter/small door that I thought would be perfect to use for a rustic sign.
finished sign
The old wood piece was a nice size but had a few odd holes.
After thinly applying some white paint, I added stencil letters in red.
The sign was going under our deck where we keep our canoe and kayak.
It goes with the whole nautical theme going down our dock and to the lake.
