Organized Cottage Style Laundry Room and Mudroom Renovation

Sweaty gym socks, stinky towels and mud-stained jeans -- I'm ready for you!
Who knew a girl could get so giddy about a laundry room?
But that's just how I'm feeling after completing a renovation our combination laundry room/mudroom.
Our laundry room before had good bones, but it wasn't very functional and it was a dumping ground.
Now, it's organized, packed with storage, easy on the eyes and custom-designed for our family's needs.
We had built-in storage installed, with lots of cubbies and drawers for storage, plus a niche for our laundry hamper and finally a place to hang clean clothes.
Instead of matching the built-ins to the trim in the room, we painted them a pretty cottage blue.
Now, the room where I used to dread spending time is my bright, happy place.
Swing by my blog to see the entire laundry room and how I decorated it with vintage finds, pretty baskets and original artwork.

My washer and dryer sit on a beadboard-clad pedestal with room underneath for three laundry baskets. And there's more storage up top.
The laundry room before. We used the old built-in hamper for storage, but it wasn't very practical because we always piled things on top of it.
