I recently painted the ceiling in our half bath gray and changed up the accessories in the space with some vintage finds and other pretties.

Not a room in any house I have lived in during the last 15-18 years had a white ceiling. Ceilings are the 5th wall to decorate! If the space is large (bedrrom), I usually paint it the same color as the walls unless I am going for a particular look (for example one wall and ceiling same, but different from other 3 walls. Sometimes in a small space (think bath or powder room) I paint it 50% lighter but same color as walls. Makes room feel like there is so much more light in it. I helped a friend paint her living/dining/kitchen/hall. Her mother told her if the ceiling was any color other than white she wouldn't talk to her again. Because her hallway was SO narrow with no light but continuous with other ceilings we did the 50% trick and even her mother loved it! Lol
