How to Refinish A Cargo Love Seat

Recently I decided to redecorate my sun room but instead of just going out and buying new furniture, I scoured thrift stores and Craigslist to find old, ugly items. I was determined to redo the room on a mini-budget and makeover furniture destined for the dump! Check out how I made this old, scratched, light wood love seat into a dark, moody, sophisticated love seat!
First, I sanded the love seat with 80 grit and 120 grit.
Then I cleaned it with isopropyl alcohol, deglosser, and a tack cloth.
Next I brushed on my stain. After a few minutes I then wiped it off.
After a few coats of polyurethane here is the finished product!

My husband would like to know what stain you used? We have collected several cargo pieces and are ready to tackle them all at once.
