About a year ago, I discovered my grandmother's stash of yarn hidden away at my Mother's house. I knew I wanted to display it, but since I am cheap, I waited for a solution. My Daddy came home with an old wooden ladder that he got for free and an idea was born!
I wanted to display the yarn in a corner. The ladder that my dad found was extendable, so we took it apart and screwed it together so that it would fit in the corner. The rungs matched up perfectly to place shelves on.
The shelves were a bit tricky to make because the ladders were not the same width. So my dad and I worked to make a template. It was a perfect fit.
Next, I painted it an off white. After the paint dried, I lightly sanded it and the used a red mahogany stain to distress it.
The ladder was a perfect fit floor to ceiling!
I love the way my yarn looks!

And yes... I openly admit that I hoard yarn!
