    Pajunka, Here in Florida, my soil is mostly sand. The "pails" are actually cardboard forms that are sold in the concrete aisle. In areas where the soil has a lot of loam or clay, the forms are unnecessary. I can't take credit for being "smart", but thanks anyway!

    Mary Ann B, Originally I bought the 2x4's 16 feet long. When I stood it up it was waaaay too tall. I cut off 4' and put 2' in the ground. So all together, a 12 foot 2x4 would be plenty. Who knew that 10' would seem so high outside. My house has 10' ceilings and it doesn't seem that high. hmm?
