DIY Paper Feather Garland

Hey...I hate to tell y'all, but Summertime and I had a talk and we have decided to break up. I told her I can't take her intense heat anymore and that we needed to go our separate ways. And please forgive me for using the "F" word but I am already dreaming of FALL!. I mean, it's not like I'm breaking out the pumpkins and apple cider or anything. I'm just dreaming of cooler temps and the fresh air that that season brings. Working outside has been fairly difficult with the high heat temps. I decided to do some creative work inside and make a paper feather garland. It looks cute in the house now, but can definitely transition into the "F" season :)
I used scrapbook paper and card stock from my craft stash. This porcelain feather became a template that I traced for one of the feather patterns.
We loved how the paper feathers looked after they were all cutout! We created a free pattern with 3 feather designs so that you can make your own feathers. Just click the link below to take you to our website.
For added dimension I pinched the center of each cutout. I then used a hole punch for each paper feather.
For a rutic look we used this twine for the garland.
I added the paper feather garland to the fireplace mantel. If you have been reading us for awhile, then you know that it is no secret that I love feathers in my decor...paper or otherwise.
I love how whimsical it looks. It will also be great to transition into the upcoming Fall season!
This garland will definitely get moved around a lot and used in different rooms of the house as my mood changes.
We can't stress enough how fun, easy and inexpensive this project is to create in your own home.
