WE'LL TAKE OUR COLOR ANYWAY WE CAN GET IT

This time of the year we start looking toward autumn and her many coats of color. At Hawk's Creek we take our color anyway we can get it. The Castor Bean plant is always a show in hot Texas August. I love the way the red seed pods are so bright and cheery ( that is before they turn ugly brown)!
This beautiful and very large moth took up residence on my vehicle. Such a picture of perfect beauty.
The Castor Bean showing out along my back entry.
Lovely surprise.

Love the moth, but the castor bean is poisonous to animals and humans, too afraid to plant them here.

Yes, they are Mary Ann. I have two cats and a dog and thank goodness they ignore the castor bean plants. If I had little kids around I would not plant these or Oleanders either. The moth was huge. Loved it. Up close it was amazing. The colors and perfection made my heart joyful.
