Stenciled Rug!

by Angela
I needed a new rug for my outdoor patio but didn't want to spend too much so I found a rug at Home Depot for $17, applied a stencil pattern to it and sealed it with spray on poly. Not sure how it will hold up but our weather in South Texas is mild so I'm curious to see how it does! At this price, I may make another one for the holidays!
My "before" rug....been outside for about 8 years and has seen better days!
My "new" rug!!!
$17 from Home Depot on line....shipping was free too!!
My trellis stencil from Royal Design Studio
I used some paint I had on hand and a foam roller.
I needed to apply a little pressure for the design to be more intense.
The finished product!
Took me about 2 hours to complete.
So far, has held up well!!

I like it! What kind of paint you used?

Do you think it's a fairly durable rug? I need a new rug for my classroom, need it to be durable, and don't want to spend a lot of money.

First off I want to say I just love your outdoor seating area! Your taste is the same as mine! I would like to ask where you got your outdoor table lamp and would also like to ask if it is an outdoor electric lamp or one you've converted over to either solar or battery operated? You did a great job of painting your rug and got a fantastic price on it as well! I've got a couple of plain outdoor patio rugs that I may copy your painting idea on. Thanks for sharing your beautiful outdoor decorating! What did you use the spray can of paint in your picture on?
