Distressed Painted Mason Jars

5 Materials
For an easy and inexpensive, absolutely darling decor accent, try distressed painted Mason jars!
I picked up several Mason jars at the craft store along with some small bottles chalk paint (which is so much less expensive than the pints of chalk paint).
I started by putting a dollop of the FolkArt brand chalk paint in a solo cup. I just simply brushed the paint on each jar. I let the paint dry for two hours and then added a second coat. I used a regular paint brush with soft bristles.
After the second coat was completely dry (several hours), I took 80 grit sandpaper and lightly sanded all of the raised areas of the jars.
I sealed the jars and added some embellishments to complete. For all of the directions, check out Under a Texas Sky
