Homemade Laundry Detergent Tablets

Easy
Make your own pre-measured laundry detergent tablets with this easy recipe. You will need equal parts:
*Washing Soda
*Borax
*Laundry bar (Fels Naptha, castille, Zote ect.)
Works well in a front loading washer.
Grate or chop the soap bar and blend it into a fine powder in the food processor. Mix together remaining ingredients. Then add enough water to make the laundry soap clump together. Press the soap into a mold (ice cube trays or mini muffin tin). Let it dry overnight or until solid.
HE washers will only need 1-2 tablespoons per load so plan your tablet size accordingly.
Top loaders will need about 1/4 C.
For this particular batch I used roughly 1-1/4 C of each ingredient because that was how much powder I got from one Fels Naptha bar.
Check out the blog post for more detailed instructions and review.
Chop up the laundry bar.
Blend it into a fine powder, this way it will dissolve well in any water temperature.
Mix all of the ingredients.
Add enough water to make the powder clump. The mixture should still look dry after adding water.
Use your fingers to press into mold. This ice cube tray holds about 1 tablespoon. Use a larger tray for top loading machines.

Are you sure the borax won’t fade my colors?? I love my colors 🌈 when we used it to make slime it totally changed the colors of the glitter glue to the dullest colors I’ve ever seen. I was so disappointed. Good thing tho that the kids didn’t care 🤪 I never want that to happen to my clothes! So I hesitate to try this…

Grate 1 Ivory bar bath soap into a huge pot of boiling water. Add Borax and Arm & Hammer soaps. 1 cup each. Let cool. Whisk vigorously. Pour into a 5 gallon bucket. Put a Dollar Tree ladle and a whisk, both plastic, into the bucket. Carry it covered to your laundry room. Whisk again if it gets clumpy and use the ladle to put into the washing machine while the water is filling. Add your clothes. I have never had a problem with any fading etc. with this recipe. Wash on, folks !

I've made this one too but I saved old laundry detergent containers that I filled with this recipe I can shake the container to ensure it's mixed well. I just marked them with a sharpe stating it was homemade.
