PLATFORM BED!

I am not a big bed frame/head board person, but my husband hates having our mattress and box spring on the floor! So, when he did not get rid of the wood from a crazy big odd shelving unit that he torn down in the garage of the house we bought. I told him since he did not get rid of the monsters, I had an idea of what to do with them. He nixed the idea for a year, and I finally did it...fortunately with his help! I was going for that mattress on a platform bed frame look (with all the bedding tucked in under the mattress all neat and tidy), but I forgot we had a box spring too! So although I like what I did...it is not the exact look what I was going for! o)
The 98% finished product! I like it...even if it is higher than planned!
The monsters that started the whole thing!
Cleaned and painted... Moving the monsters and putting the final trim on it came next!
Ha ha...who forgets about a box spring? Me! The kind of look I was going for...

When you buy sheets buy a coordinated fitted sheet to go on the box spring. Or even a top sheet tucked in with nurse's corners. Trust me. I have used king top sheets under my mattress to cover my box spring like a bed skirt. A fitted sheet will, work great as a cover for your box spring.

The bed in the photo??? I don't know. The post was about the bed I did make! Google diy platform beds, I guess.
