Organize Your Bathroom With This Rustic Storage Solution

A few months ago the hubs and I headed up to North Carolina to visit the cabin resort we were married at. The owner builds all of the log homes from reclaimed wood, and while we were there he let us pick out some wood to use in our RV.
I was like a kid in a candy store but had to keep my eyes from wandering to the heavier wood since we would be using it inside our motorhome. Luckily he had a stash of reclaimed cypress that was perfect!
Some of the wood was used to create a rustic shelf to hold towels in our bathroom.

DIY horseshoe shelf made from reclaimed wood.
The first thing we did was measure and cut the wood to the dimensions we wanted.
We then marked where we wanted each of our four shelves to go and attached those with screws. You could also use a kreg jig or metal brackets.
This is what it looked like after attaching two of the shelves.
I rusted up some new horseshoes and we attached those to the front of each shelf with nails. I also stained the wood with tung oil and sealed the horseshoes with clear sealer so no rust would get on our towels.
This is what it looks like hanging up in the bathroom of our RV. You can see more photos and get more detailed information over on our blog at the link below.
