How My Friend's Old Dresser Became My New Buffet

My friend snapped this pic of an old dresser she was going to toss and asked me if I wanted it. Of course I did!
Once my hubby picked it up, I coated the outside with primer after a light sanding.
After the primer dried I painted it black.
Then I applied a new coat of stain to the drawers. To finish I added a couple of coats polyurethane to the entire piece for extra durability.
I then spray painted the drawer pulls "hammered" black and reattached (once dry).
And I was all finished!
What started out as an old dresser my friend was going to toss became my new dining room buffet that I've received lots of compliments on.
So next time you see an old dresser that looks dated, stop to think about what a little paint can do. You may end up with exactly what you were looking for.
