An Old Dresser Gets a New Look

The Shabby Nest
by The Shabby Nest
I found this fabulous dresser at a flea market for merely a little bit of chump change! I loved the beautiful details on it! The drawers work perfectly too! I decided to use a milk paint by American Paint company called French grey. I then used white chalk paint to highlight some of the details. Gave it a good wax and buff! Now to find it a good home!

I have never used chalk paint but I do have a sit down dresser with a shinny finish that would look great in this colour, do I sand before I paint? I have decided to use the milk paint by American Paint company French Grey. Then use white chalk paint to highlight some of the details. When you wax it (what do you use) and buff! Thanks for your help!

Do you think that ASP would work for this piece as well, or possibly the newest paint in one coat called Velvet Finishes? This is a beautifully done chest and don't let anyone else tell you different. I had an antique store for years and some of the pieces would have sold faster if they had been redone like this one has!!

Thank you! Definitely ASCP would work on something like this. I do a lot of furniture and use all kinds of paint chalk, milk,& latex.
