Simple Halloween Decorations

The first set of mummies were made using wire...very simple. I started by wrapping some wire around a small piece of white cotton material for the head. Then I made the torso in the same way and wired them together. I fashioned the legs and arms out of the wire and then wrapped strips of cotton fabric around the wires to make the mummy. I bought a white cotton sheet at the local thrift store and used that (you can also use white gauze). I glued on googly eyes and voila!! For the mason jar mummies I just wrapped strips of white cotton material around a mason jar making sure to leave a little opening for the eyes and glued it here and there to make sure it didn't unravel. I then glued googly eyes on. For the girl mummy I just glued on a ribbon bow and for the baby I glued on the end of a ring pop as the soother. I put in a battery operated tealight to light them up at night.
