So with the holidays quickly approaching us, its normally a time when we have a huge influx of guests, some wanted….AND you know some not so much….
Either way you need to find a place for everyone to sit. Here I'll show you how to make folding canvas stools that you can easily pull out when needed and stow away when not in use. These stools are not only perfect extra seating for the holidays, but you can take these on camping trips or provide as gifts.
You can make this folding canvas stool!
Here are the materials. It's very basic and requires very little tools. The wood used is 1x2x8 pine from my local hardware store. It's about $1.17 per 1x2. We used the plans developed by my favorite woodworkers, Ana white and Jaime Costiglio of That’s My Letter.
My tip is to drill the hole through all the legs all at once to ensure everything is lined up perfectly for the bolt to go through the board.
Assemble each frame, the inner and outer
using a 2"bolt you assemble the frame of the stool.
For the sling you can try your hand at a no sew option using fabric glue
You can use Iron on hem tape for the edges . OR you can simple use a nail gun to attach the canvas to the frame.
OOOOOOr if your a sewer, here is a great video tutorial by my friend and fellow ToolBox Diva, Jennifer of Cowlick Studio.
Sport your creation at your next get together. You can change the canvas with the season.
You can paint and stain to match any decor. Happy Building Y'all!
