How I Decoupaged My Husband's Guitar

Decoupage is one of my favourite things to do in my free time and this project was quite challenging, not because it was a guitar and supposedly it has an odd shape, but because it was my husband's old guitar and it has a great sentimental value to him. When I applied the first layer of glue my hands were literally shaking, but I think managed to do a decent job. I also tried something new. When I finished with glueing the pieces of paper I also took the brush and painted over them, because I wanted to enhance the pattern. Only after the paint was dry I applied a layer of glue and then a second and third. When it was all dry I "sealed the deal" with varnish.
I have instructions on how to decoupage a fridge at the bottom of this article - they apply to a great extent for every decoupage project and I used the same strategy on our guitar! :)

Is it still playable, or does the decoupage change it too much?

I love this idea. I could kick myself - my husband had five guitars and a few months ago gave one away to a friends boy, but if I had seen your guitar - there is no way I would have let it go - so feeling very down know :( - but I might ask him if I can try this on one of his others. You have made it look very beautiful - well done you :)
