Turn any gift box into a festive holiday floral arrangement with just a few supplies, some creativity, and some holiday spirit. And you can use the lid to make a special Christmas tree decoration too!
I love making holiday crafts and décor, especially using items I already have on hand and at home. So I used an old wine bottle box as a festive container for a Christmas floral arrangement (but you could use any medium size box or container).
I bought most of my supplies last year during the after Christmas sales. I loved the colors and cute Santa on this wine bottle gift box, but had no plans for what I was going to do with it.
The first step in making a Christmas floral arrangement is to fill your gift box with newspaper or bubble wrap. Then cut some styrofoam or floral foam to fit in the top of your container.
Next, cut apart your artificial floral stems, leaving an inch long base on each piece, and place them in groups.
Then start creating your floral arrangement by placing your flowers and greenery into your foam. I have hints and suggestions for arranging your stems on my blog.
I also have a great Christmas idea for using your gift box lid. Check out my blog for photos and directions for both of these fun holiday projects!
Suggested materials:
  • Plain or holiday gift box
  • Artificial flowers, greenery, and berries
  • Styrofoam or floral foam
