Creating Extra Seating Space With Repurposed Wooden Chest

The seating space in my family room/Mom's bedroom is very limited. I was inspired by a post which demonstrated how to make your own seat cushion for a windowseat. (Thanks to " How to Make a Window Seat Cushion in 5 Minutes" by Beneath My Heart)
I used an old Lane chest which was very worn on the outside but in perfect condition on the inside to create a cozy new seating area. Here is how I did it!
I created a cozy little seating area by repurposing my old Lane chest
My wonderful old Lane chest
I painted it black to match other furniture in the family room
Purchased a piece of pressed board and had it cut to size. Purchased a piece of black and red fabric and found a seat cushion from a patio couch.
I spread the fabric face down on my work area (actually my kitchen table!)
I placed the seat cushion on the fabric
I then placed the piece of board on top of the cushion
I folded the fabric over the cushion and board as if wrapping a present
I used a staple gun to staple the fabric onto the wood
Just for a finishing touch, I taped the edges of the fabric with duct tape (love duct tape :))
The covered cushion
I placed the cushion on top of the chest
I added a few pillows and ta-da! I have a new cozy little seating area!
