Don't throw out that old dresser! Repurpose it!

Dusty, old dresser BEFORE....

Best wood paint!

Give an old dress a new life with this bestseller paint that Amazon reviewers swear by!

Take all the drawers out and keep only the two bottom drawers - a six drawer dresser like this is ideal but not necessary. You could get creative with just about any dresser!

Using a hand saw and/or Skill saw, remove all the drawer framing and backing of the dresser. Then strip and sand off any paint if painted..

Add plywood

Measure 1/4" plywood to fit the back, bench seat and inside sides to fit exactly and glue into place (use clamps as needed).

I used a brad nailer to add a stronger hold, but if you don't have one, you can just use a hammer and small finishing nails.

Add finishing rail

Use 1x3 boards to finish the edging along the plywood.

Paint!

Next, paint your piece the color of choice and poly or wax to finish

Finishing touches...

Put the 2 bottom drawers in.

Add some throw pillows - and if your super crafty and can sew, you could make a cushioned bench seat!
