How to Spray Paint Laminate Furniture

I found this $10 laminate dresser and gave it a little grey-stripe makeover. With a sanding and a good primer you can paint any piece of laminate furniture. I used painters tape to create the stripes and gave the original handles some red spray paint. Perfect for my little boys bedroom. Easy way to give a fresher modern update to a dark and dated laminate furniture that you can find at any thrift store or yard sale.
Painting Laminate furniture is easier than you may think. Just give it a light sanding and use a good primer on it.
Original $10 nightstand.
Spray painted the original handles red.
Used Krylon Crystal Clear for some added protection. Can't get any easier than just spraying it on.

hi, I read on another site not to sand laminate. You sanded yours, correct ? I'm using spray paint as well, will spray paint work just as well as paint ?

I see I am not the only one who thinks this but giving this piece those great red pulls was brilliant! It transformed the whole piece into a modern and sleek unit that not only looks great but gives it just enough boldness that your son can enjoy now but grow into and appreciate later. Great job!
