How to Grow Potatoes in a Pallet Container.

Family Food Garden
by Family Food Garden
Easy, cheap DIY large pallet container to grow potatoes in or use as a large compost bin.
*Pallet Safety*
There is mixed information online in terms of whether or not pallets are safe to use because they are often treated with a chemical (Methal Bromide) to kill insects. If they've been chemically treated they will be stamped MB. Other times they are heat treated and will be stamped HT. Make sure you check your pallets and see if they are stamped.

If they aren't stamped, generally they weren't heat treated or treated with methyl bromide. They should be fine for use as they will be raw wood and nothing else.

Would this work with any other root vegetables, what kind of soil mix do you use and doesn't the soil fall out the sides?
