DIY Framed Pressed Fall Leaves

5 Materials
Easy
If you've got bright fall leaves and a few photo frames, you've got the beginnings of a simple and pretty project that will bring that gorgeous fall color right inside your home - just in time for Thanksgiving decor!
When the leaves show off their bright, brilliant colors each fall, I always want to hold onto them longer than they usually stay around. Of course that's simple to do if you press them. The colors are preserved and with careful attention, they can be enjoyed for years.
We had a really long summer here. In fact, it has only dropped below 80 degrees consistently within the past couple of weeks. That meant that we also had to wait longer for fall colored leaves. So when I finally found some leaves that were changing colors, I grabbed my press and got busy collecting what I could find. If you don't have a press, be sure to check out my video tutorial to learn how you can make your own simple leaf press.
While the leaves were in the press, I visited the thrift store and found three collage frames that were in need of a little updating.
I started by taking them apart and giving them a couple of coats of Rust-Oleum's Camouflage Khaki spray paint.
Next, I used my paper trimmer to cut some card stock to fit each frame,
then played around with some designs until I found what I liked in each frame. I added a few drops of glue to the back of each leaf, mounted them on the card stock, then reassembled the frames.
I added them to some fall candle decor in my kitchen window and now I can enjoy them every single day!
I hope you'll collect some of your gorgeous fall leaves and make a few collages to enjoy too!
