Look How Adorable This Wooden Stool Is Now!

There are a lot of possibilities when it comes to updating an old wooden stool because it's easy to give your wooden furniture a new life with some paint and our stencil patterns. Today we're sharing a DIY stenciled wooden stool makeover using our Summer Blossom Flower Stencil one of our NEW Flower Stencil Patterns.
We'd like you to welcome back Janna , one of the Cutting Edge Stencils owners and a creative DIYer. Janna loves spending time in her beautiful garden at her home. She inherited a worn yet sturdy wooden stool that was perfect for her garden. Before she placed it in her enchanting space, she decided to give it a makeover using our stencils for furniture. Let's walk through the steps for completing this project. Here is what the wooden stool looked like when she inherited it.
The first thing she did was lightly sand the top of the wooden stool.
After the stool was prepped and spray painted lime green, Janna decided to use one of our new flower stencils for this fun garden project, the Summer Blossom Wall Art Stencil.
With her large floral pattern in hand she was ready for the fun part, stenciling!
For this project, Janna chose to use a removable spray adhesive to hold the stencil in place.
Janna made sure she brushed off any excess paint on a piece of paper towel. Too much paint will cause the design to bleed. She painted the pretty flower design with Plaster Paint Simple White using a stencil brush. Janna made sure she covered the entire design with paint before she removed the pattern.
After the flower pattern was painted in white, Janna decided to add a touch of color using Plaster Paint's Marigold yellow. She painted the yellow hue in the middle of the blossom.
Once it was complete, she carefully removed the stencil from the stool and revealed the Summer Blossom design..
Janna placed the painted stool in her garden and stepped back to admire her creative work. Are you ready to see how it all turned out? Here is Janna's Summer Blossom stenciled stool.
How fitting is this flower stenciled garden stool? This playful flower pattern pattern certainly adds character and charm to the old wooden stool.

Based on the photographs, the top of the stool was cracked. Why did you not repair it first since there was a real likelihood it would fall apart?

Like the previous questioner, I'd like to know why you did not repair the cracks, and also how would you go about repairing them if that was an option.
