9 Fall Fix-Ups That Lower Your Winter Heating Bill

Winterizing the outside of your home lowers your energy use, which lowers your heating bill.
I'm listing some of the ways I seal up outside air leaks to prep the house for winter here. For more detailed information follow the link to my blog post.
Look for and seal gaps between the house and windows with chaulk.
Put a cover on your air conditioner.
Check gaps around outlets, faucets etc. and caulk if needed.
Drain outdoor hoses and insulate outside faucets.

Lisa, excellent article that you wrote on the nice fix up of lowering winter heating bills as mentioned by the title of your article. What got my attention was the rope caulk, what type of material is that rope caulk made of and where can you get any extras from? These are some of the questions that came to my mind since I'm going to be doing some HVAC work on my own unit.
