Outdoor Light Turned Holiday Decor

Hello Hometalk Friends! I shared a fun project on the blog this week that I thought ya'll might like too! I was browsing through the Habitat Restore a couple of weeks ago when I spied this old outdoor light fixture:
I thought that if I could remove all the lighting components inside, it would make a wonderful globe of sorts! I set out to do just that...
I also reworked the handle on top. Then I cut a base for it out of a piece of scrap wood...
And added a candlestick to the bottom to add height. Then I painted it and added glitter, using clear acrylic sealer like a glue.
I also gave the light fixture a fresh coat of paint. I had fun setting the scene inside with some pieces from my Christmas village:
I love seeing the scene under the glass come to life!
This was such a fun project!
I hope you enjoyed this fun repurposed project! You might like this one I shared last year too:
It's not a clock anymore! Follow the link below to see what I did with it!

How did you paint the light fixture without getting it all over the glass? Did the glass come out?

I have two similar style lights out on my house. I am interested in sprucing them up by painting them. Are they difficult to take apart? You did a beautiful job with yours!
