Well the Holidays are fast approaching and most of my shopping is done HORRAY!!, so now I have time to make those special gifts for the special people in my life, and this is by far one of the easiest projects and I think a very cool gift idea. It all started with a cutting board.
First step is to gather the supplies needed for this project. A wooden cutting board, a memo pad, chalkboard paint and self adhesive Velcro.
Lay your memo pad face down.
Take your self adhesive Velcro and cut strips the size of your pad, to fit the top and the bottom.
Next press them together and centre the pad on the board pressing firmly.
This is what it should look like finished.
Next step, turn board over on the other side and just tape around the outside of the board using painters tape to create a border.
Using your chalkboard paint, paint the board. For best results use a brush. A roller will leave you with bubbles and a rough surface. I applied two coats.
Using some jute I tied it around the top and tied a piece of chalk to the other end. Here it is finished.
I did the same step on the other side attaching a pencil. I love how this turned out and will be making one for myself after the holidays!
