I was looking for a perfect sign with the perfect Christmas Lyrics to put in my entryway. After spotting a really cute "Go Tell it on the Mountain" sign on Pinterest, I knew that was exactly what I wanted...and wanted to make one similar for Christmas my decorated home.
This project is easy as can be...

You first want to start with some scrap wood. I have tons of scrap wood hanging out in my garage from all our projects and found one that was about 1/4" thick so it would be just the right size to hang and not feel too heavy. Once We cut the wood to size, I decided to stain in with some Annie Sloan dark wax. You can stain it with any stain you have on hand, I just tend to love using dark wax to age the wood since the color is just right and it dries fast.

Next, you are going to create a sign of us
Next, I used this print out that I made and had this printed at staples with the size needed for my wood sign. Print it as large as you need, the space I had for the sign wasn't very big so I measured according to this space.
Place sheet over wood and tape down on sides to keep paper from moving. I used a pencil and pressed firmly over each letter as I traced. I chose to do each line at a time to make sure I would avoid making mistakes. Once complete, you are going to need a paint marker that you can trace over letters with. It takes some time to do, but really simple.
And then you have yourself this cute little sign just right to place on your walls for Christmas. It's a great way to greet your guests. I catch myself reading over the sign as I pass by, and then getting this song stuck in my head haha. If it's too late to create this for Christmas, choose lyrics of your own to hang on your wall...or find something meaningful to create for a friend or family member as a great homemade gift.

Create these as a great gift with lyrics or a poem of choice for your friends and family just in time for Christmas.
